Mixed Ages - 0-5
The Essential Music Together® Class
For newborns through 5-year-olds
This is the essential Music Together class, one that a child can attend from birth through kindergarten—and through all nine song collections. This basic class follows the recommendations of child development researchers—grouping children of a variety of ages in one class. This approach fosters natural, family-style learning where younger children enjoy watching and imitating older ones; older children learn by leading younger ones; and adults are happy because the children in the family can go to class together. Each child participates at his or her own developmental level in singing, moving, chanting, listening, observing, or exploring musical instruments. We welcome the whole family to join in this important family music experience and any caregiver—parents, grandparents, nanny—can bring the child(ren) to class. Babies - 0 - 7 months
Babies love music!
For infants up to 7 months old
This will come as no surprise to you if you've ever soothed your newborn to sleep with a lullaby or bounced him to the beat of your favorite song. But did you know your son or daughter is also a natural music-maker? It's true: We are each born equipped to respond to music from a remarkably early age. There is a lot you can do to nurture your new little musician - even if you don't think of yourself as a "musical" person. Making music together from the very beginning will lead to a lifetime of shared musical enjoyment for both you and your child.
The Music Together Babies Class will start you on the path to becoming a musical family. Specifically designed for infants seven months and younger, this one-semester introduction to Music Together allows babies to embrace, enjoy, and express their inborn musicality. In your weekly class, you will spend forty-five music-filled minutes singing, dancing, and playing with your child, all in the virtual company of other new parents and guided by an early childhood music specialist. You'll learn how your child is developing musically and how you can support this growth. Plus, you'll collect lots of ideas on how to play and bond musically together and infuse music into your baby's everyday life.
Music Masters - 3-5-year-olds
Music Together Master Class
For the experienced Music Together student ages 3-5 years old
If your child is between 3-5 years old and has attended Music Together Mixed Ages classes in the past, he or she may be ready for our Masters Class. Children are encouraged to sing their own names during the Hello and Goodbye songs, repeat tonal and rhythm patterns by themselves, take "solo" turns playing with instruments, offer activity suggestions, and make up their own vocables or verses. Register your child for the same outstanding music with some different kinds of activities.
Note: This is a family music class with parent participation. Younger siblings are welcome to register and attend along with their older sibling.
